From the body of the work down to its last cord, gold changes form, but never its place.

  • Dodo Bassinet Solid Gold is hand-cast in Switzerland from Argor-Heraeus fine gold ingots by artisans drawing on a long tradition.

    The work is born from a unique mould, which is destroyed for ever after giving it form.

  • For centuries, passementerie has transformed gold and silk threads into cords, braids and textile ornaments. In Dodo Bassinet Solid Gold, this tradition is reinterpreted in Switzerland, where gold thread is worked into a continuous cord that traces and embraces the entire padded perimeter.

    Its form envelops; its meaning connects. It evokes the umbilical cord, the first physical bond of life, making that perimeter an essential part of the language of the work.

    Every dimension, contour and material has been shaped to work in accord with the bassinet's distinctive form, providing an exceptional balance of support and restorative rest.

    At its heart lies a breathable micro-perforated core that promotes continuous airflow throughout the mattress. Natural wool fibres and premium cotton layers help maintain a fresh, balanced sleeping climate from the very first day.

    The mattress is finished with a removable cover enriched with Aloe Vera, chosen for its softness and gentle contact with the baby's skin.
